How to build community connections through gathering, performative spaces, and cross-cultural dialogue.
Join us for a full day workshop with theatre maker and community builder, Kris Alvarez. Over the past few years, her show Burnt Sienna has gathered communities to open dialogue around multiculturalism and anti-racism through the sharing of food, humour, and cross-cultural perspectives.
What to expect: This event will begin with a performance, then move into candid conversations around culture and playfully creative activities. The experience intends to share and practice community building skills, grow our empathy & cross-cultural understanding of how to serve communities in genuine, kind, inclusive and joyful ways. Lunch Provided!
This workshop is presented by Common Weal Community Arts thanks to support from the Art Gallery of Regina and funding from Canadian Heritage.
Limited space for workshops. Please advise if you are unable to make the session.
Workshop will run from 10:00am-4:00pm with a light lunch being served.
