Studio Jane Doe is pursuing a JUST label: a voluntary social justice disclosure tool for organizations, offered through the International Living Future Institute (ILFI). For the Stewardship | Volunteering social justice indicator, the practice is planning a Level 2 commitment:

LEVEL TWO

1. Organization has a written policy on volunteering.

2. Organization provides 8 hours of paid volunteer time per year for volunteering purposes at an organization of the employee’s choice.

One employee noted that these policies codified behavior that was already part of the AIA’s 2020 Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Which Rule or Ethical Standard do you think best aligns with the JUST Stewardship | Volunteering requirements?

A. Rule 1.403: Members shall not knowingly design spaces intended for execution.
