Hello Future Centurions!
Welcome to Saugus High School! Given the current pandemic, we have created this form for your use should we not be able to keep our registration schedule as planned. As a Freshman, you will have a total of 6 classes per semester. Four of the six courses are based on the district placement test and/or teacher recommendation. Your 6 courses will vary from other students, but, in general, the structure of courses is as follows:
Course 1 - English
Course 2 - Math
Course 3 - Science
Course 4 - PE or Athletic Sport
Course 5 & 6 - Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Practical Arts, Miscellaneous
Take a moment to review the attached links for the Freshman Transition guide and SHS Course Catalog which will help you to understand your choices. Placement into the academic subjects of math, science, and English will be based upon placement test and/or teacher recommendation. In the event the district placement test(s) cannot be administered prior to the end of the year, we will notify all parents of the alternate method of placement for each subjet.

*For students with an IEP, a matriculation meeting date will be set at SHS where the team, including parents and student, determine core academic placement. Your students' 8th-grade case manager will contact you to schedule a date.
Counselors want you to have a copy of your responses.
