Youth Programs: Junior Counselor Application 
The Junior Counselor Program with Youth Programs for the Department of Recreation aims to provide children the opportunity to learn and develop valuable communication and leadership skills. The Junior Counselor Program is for children that are highly motivated and who can demonstrate the ability to take on the responsibilities of being a leader amongst their peers and the challenges that come with it. Junior Counselors will work under the direct supervision of the Youth Programs Staff and the leadership team.

At the time of enrollment, your child must either be an incoming Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in Highschool.

Please Note:
This is an UNPAID, volunteer position. Hours worked may qualify as Community Service Credit. Additionally, each session is limited to 10 Junior Counselor participants, and will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Program Fees & Requirements
Pricing options for the Junior Counselor program are as follows:
  • $40 for 1 session (Spring Day Camp ONLY)
  • $80 for up to 2 sessions
  • $160 for up to 4 sessions
  • $240 for up to 6 sessions
  • $320 for up to 9 sessions
If selected for our program, students will need to complete a bullying prevention training, which is due prior to their first day along with registration fees. In addition, students will be giving a program t-shirt that is included in the registration fee.
