Interest in the AMNH Middle School Programs
This form is for parents/guardians, family members, teachers, or others with students who have an interest in the American Museum of Natural History's Middle School programming.  Specifically, the:
--Lang Science Program
--Science Alliance Program
--Middle School Institutes

Programs will start in the summer or fall of 2020.

Each program centers on the sciences studied and exhibited here a AMNH - topics in biology, anthropology, and the physical sciences (Earth/Planetary science and Astrophysics), but each has a very different schedule and level of commitment.

For all programs, we offer extensive fee waivers and/or scholarship opportunities.

Please read the information below on the scheduling and commitment level for each program, and then indicate if you are a parent/guardian/other with a child who might be interested, or if you are a school or organization with interest.  You will then be directed to a page with information to fill out about the child, or your organization.

The Lang Science Program
The Lang program (http://www.amnh.org/Lang) is a 7-year program meeting 33 days/year (3 weeks each summer & 18 Saturdays each school year) from 6th - 12th grade.

To be eligible to apply to either students must:
•currently be in 5th grade (or homeschool equivalent).
•live and/or go to school in any of the five boroughs of New York City.
•show a strong interest in science.

Applications to start in the Summer of 2020 will be released in the Fall of 2019, with interviews in the late winter of 2020.

The Science Alliance Program
The Science Alliance Program (http://www.amnh.org/ScienceAlliance) is a multi-year program for Middle School students that runs on either Monday or Friday afternoons.

We have not opened up our applications for Science Alliance at this time.
The Middle School Institutes
The Middle School Institutes (http://www.amnh.org/MSI) are week-long or two-week-long exploration of a collections-based science topic.  No application is required, but registration is completed on a first-come, first-served basis.

To be eligible, students must:
•currently be in middle school (for school year programs), or be entering a middle school year in September (for summer programs).

Registration opens at different times during the year.
