Application for Steering Committee
Aloha,

The Stonewall Caucus of the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i amended our Bylaws at the May 2021 meeting and these amendments were approved by the State Central Committee on July 24, 2021. These amendments along with the vote from the Steering Committee earlier this year established the following additional positions on the Stonewall Caucus Steering Committee:

East Hawai‘i County Representative;
Vice-Chair for Membership;
Vice-Chair for Communications; &
Vice-Chair for Fundraising

Here are their respective responsibilities:

County Representative needs to live in the County they are representing and shall assist the Steering Committee with general membership outreach, attend Steering Committee meetings and perform other tasks as assigned by the Chair(person) or Executive Committee.

Membership Committee:
The Membership Committee shall, on behalf of the Stonewall Caucus, shall be responsible for coordinating recruitment of new members and membership drives, developing and maintain on boarding procedures for new members, as well as coordinating membership enhancements and engagement opportunities.

Communications Committee:
The Communications Committee shall, on behalf of the Stonewall Caucus, foster and develop a network of communications and outreach between and among Caucus members, members of the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i, local LGBTQIA+ organizations and supporters of justice and equality for Hawai‘i’s LGBTQIA+ community and of the object and purposes of the Stonewall Caucus.

Fundraising Committee:
The Fundraising Committee shall, on behalf of the Stonewall Caucus, raise funds and obtain such other resources as may be necessary to support activities and programs of the Stonewall Caucus.

The 1st Vice Chair resigned recently and so that position is also available.  

Duties of the First Vice Chair(person)
In the absence of the Chair(person), the First Vice Chair(person) of the Caucus shall perform all the duties of the Chair(person), and when so acting shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions on the Chair(person). The First Vice Chair(person) shall have other powers and perform other such duties as may be prescribed by the Bylaws of the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i, the laws of the State of Hawai‘i, by these Bylaws http://lgbtcaucushawaii.com/about/bylaws/ or which may be prescribed, from time to time, by the Steering Committee or membership.

The process is as follows:
Applications are due by 11:59 pm HST on September 1, 2021.
All completed applications will be reviewed by the entire Steering Committee and they will vote on these appointments.

* - Individuals that are not registered to vote in the state of Hawai‘i can be appointed but according the Bylaws of the Democratic Party of Hawai'i will become a non-voting member of the Steering Committee.
