Concept Statement
No one likes to waste energy, not even your car. So whether it’s parked in the hot sun for the workday or home for the afternoon, don’t let that time or that sunshine go to waste. With the Helios Solar Shield - a solar panel and windshield heat blocker in one - you can keep your car cool while giving it that little extra charge.

This product will take the form of a foldable solar panel that fits across the EV’s windshield and blocks heat from entering the car's interior. The panel blocker will connect directly to the battery either through a wire or internal connection within the vehicle.

The panel will be highly efficient and rated at about 300W, meaning that for every hour of direct sunlight, it will produce 0.3 kWh for the car's battery. For reference, the 2019 Nissan Leaf has a battery rating of 40-62 kWh.

So be a little more green and keep your car cool while using the Helios Solar Shield to get you those last few miles home.
