Ways 80,000 Hours has influenced the direction of the EA community

By "direction of the EA community" I mean a variety of things like:

  • What messages seem prevalent in the community
  • What ideas gain prominence or become less prominent
  • What community members are interested in
I do not mean how 80,000 Hours has influenced the *size* of the community -- except insofar as it has attracted people disproportionately interested in X such that X influenced the direction of the community.
