Hiking the Mason Rail Trail
Nov 4 (Sat)

Join avid hiker and amateur historian Miki Clements and trail builder extraordinaire Curt Spacht for a 1.75-mile roundtrip hike on a newly developed loop off the Mason Rail Trail, through the woodland behind the quarry. This trail is protected by the Mason Conservation Commission and dedicated to the Schwenks, who generously donated this property to the town. Our route will pass through woodlands, many bull pines, and gentle inclines. On our way back, we’ll pause to learn a bit about the quarry’s history and to check out some old foundations. Dress for the weather and conditions, which may include some wet spots. Meet at 10 a.m. in Mason. Back by noon. Exact meeting location will be provided upon registration. For more information, contact Miki or Curt.
