Snapshot of the previous Marching Knights Success and Future Goals:

Marching Knights have placed FIRST in each State Competition for the last 4 years in their 6A Scholastic Division. In addition, 2022’s season ended with a BOA Regional Finals Placement, finishing 7th overall in the Utah rankings and 8th in Finals Competition. LP tied 3rd for Overall Music alongside Westlake HS (a band that marches around 120+ more members than LP). We were the TOP “small” band in the finals placement. 

The Marching Knights plan on the following things the next few years (dependent on qualifying/approvals):

2023: St. George Red Rocks State Tournament and California Tour/Participation with WBA/Hopeful Disney Performing Arts Clinic or Parade

2024: St. George Red Rocks State Tournament and Bands of America St. George Regional Competition

2025: Bands of America Grand Nationals Competition (Would be Lone Peak’s First Ever Appearance; Dependent on approval of application/parent, admin, board approval): https://marching.musicforall.org/grandnationals/

I understand there is an attendance policy for marching band and realize that to be in marching band it is definitely a commitment. (We will go over the attendance policy in more detail on Mar 22; the policy will be outlined in the 2023 MB contract given to you on Mar 22)

I understand the WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2023 MARCHING BAND MEETING IS VERY IMPORTANT and I should be in attendance along with a parent. (The Meeting will go into detail of what to expect through the season, show reveal, and all things marching band.) I understand it’s at the Lone Peak Auditorium at 6:30pm.
