Thank you for thinking of others and passing along Vance's legacy.
The Vance Peterson Memorial Coaching Clinic was started in 2007 with the purpose of endowing the Vance Peterson Memorial Scholarship as well as for assisting other coaching families in need. Vance Peterson died on July 16, 2006, at the age of 37, from cancer.
Vance was an Upton, Wyoming native, where he was the president of the student council, academic all-star, state wrestling champion, all-state basketball honoree and four sport letter winner. He was a husband and father of two young children.
Vance was a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Encampment High School in Encampment, Wyoming for thirteen years, where he touched many lives of students and parents alike.
Vance's beliefs:
-Only be here if you really want to be here, no one is going to beg you;
-Give your all in practice;
-Represent your family, school, and community with pride in your play and appearance;
-After every game, be able to honestly say you left it all on the floor
-And never compromise your sportsmanship... conduct yourself as a good person in all aspects of the game and life.
Vance's spirit for living life, loving family, and helping young people will be his legacy.
Our goal, if we may in some way, is to also encourage you to carry on his legacy and let it live in your lives.
