Next year (March 2023), our high school is considering launching "Peak Week", a full week of experiential education that precedes Spring Break. This week would seek to 'pique' students’ interests, allow them a 'peek' at various potential passion areas, and challenge them to reach new 'peaks'. Students would be presented a plethora of options next fall, ranging from workshops on campus to local, national, and international trips. This would still be an official week of school and something in which all students would participate. Examples of "Peak Week" experiences could include dynamic guest speakers and skills learned on campus, local service/art/history projects, national trips to DC/South Dakota, outdoor education, and international trips focused on language and cultural immersion. There would be some course/field trip fees associated with this week just like our current courses and field trips, likely ranging from $0 to $500, with some being more that travel farther.
