A recommendation from a Groups Scholars Recommender is the only way to gain opportunity to apply to the Groups Scholars Program. You must meet specific criteria to be recommended for this scholarship. Follow the steps/questions below to find out if you are eligible to apply. You must be part of the Class of 2023 to complete this form (seniors only). The deadline to complete all steps of the scholarship is Nov. 1, 2022! HOWEVER - it is a first come first serve, so time is of the essence. Most importantly, you should only consider this scholarship if you are truly interested in Indiana University and their acadmic programs. This program starts the Summer of 2023, so only the serious should inquire to apply.

What is the Groups Scholars Program?
Empowering Students for Success

The Groups Scholars Program was created as a way to increase college attendance among first-generation, underrepresented students at Indiana University. The program provides academic, financial, and social support to help students attain a bachelor's degree at Indiana University. 

Do I qualify?
Please review the questions below to find out if you are eligible for the Groups Scholars Scholarship Program at Indiana University, Bloomington Indiana. If you are not qualified for this scholarship, please work with your Guidance Counselor for assistance on other scholarship opportunities (there are so many). If you answer false or no to any of the questions below you will not be eligible for the Groups Scholars Scholarship. 
Be a resident of the state of Indiana (at least one of the applicant's parents or legal guardians must live in Indiana). No exceptions. *
Be a U.S. citize or eligible non-citizen (have a green card) *
Meet the minimum College Preparatory Courses: refer to IUB (Academic Preparation) *
Required
You must meet the income guidelines and eligibility criteria below: (Check the box that meets your family unit/family income). They will review and compare this amount to what you reported on your 2021 tax reports. If the FAFSA is filed on/after Oct. 1, 2022 for the 2023-2024 school year, you'd look back and see who the child lived with in the year 2021.  *

I understand I am required to file my FAFSA by Nov. 1, 2022. Today we recommend you create an account for the student and the parent. Both accounts will need their own email address and phone number. The FAFSA open's on Oct. 1st. You can access the site here. *
