About the Project: An aspiring actor from Camden, NJ dreams of a moment in the spotlight… but has no idea when or if that moment will come. Faced with rejection and endless struggles, it feels like things always come easier to everyone else. This hopeful journey will inspire audiences, illuminate the challenges young people in our community face, and highlight the importance of never giving up.
Bring me the Spotlight! is an original production, and the first with The Neighborhood Center’s new drama program, Camden Stage. This project was originally conceived by Amad Tilghman, Camden native and Camden Stage Teaching Artist and is under the direction of program director, Angela Longo. Students will receive mentorship and training opportunities and even be able to contribute to the creative process– from script development, design, music, choreography, and more.
