10/08 Energy Sustainability Non-Profits Virtual Site Visit/Information Session
We will be welcoming three fabulous FedGlobal alumna to return to speak with you about their careers in energy, sustainability and advocacy in the non-profit organization community in Washington D.C.

Jane Lyons is the Maryland Advocacy Manager at Coalition for Smarter Growth. In her role, Jane builds and maintains a coalition of environmental, pro-transit, business, and community groups to campaign for smart growth policies and projects, primarily in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, using grassroots outreach. She regularly tracks relevant smart growth and transportation issues at the county and state level, and responds by crafting compelling testimony, email alerts, and blog posts. At UMD, Jane earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and her Master of Public Policy in City Management and Public Finance. She was a Federal Fellow in the Energy concentration, and served as the Graduate Assistant for the FedGlobal office.

Rebecca Tomilchik graduated from the University of Maryland in May 2020 with a B.S. in Public Health Science after completing the Global Fellows Science Diplomacy concentration her senior year.  For her Spring Internship for the Fellows program, Rebecca interned at the Majority Staff office of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce.  After a challenging and inspiring semester on Capitol Hill, Rebecca was offered a Staff Assistant position at the conclusion of her internship.  Today, Rebecca works as a Policy Analyst for the Subcommittee on Energy and the Subcommittee on Environment and Climate Change at the Committee.  She works on a wide variety of legislative issues under the Committee's jurisdiction, ranging from clean energy development to environmental justice.  

Daniel Wolf is the Policy Coordinator at the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). ACORE is a national nonprofit organization that unites finance, policy and technology to accelerate the transition to a renewable energy economy. ACORE accomplishes much of its work by convening key stakeholders, facilitating partnerships, educating senior officials on important policies, publishing research and analysis on pressing issues, and undertaking strategic outreach on the policies and financial structures essential to renewable energy growth.
