Are you interested in creating change in your community? Are you passionate about advocating for public health equity? Are you interested in earning a paid $TIPEND while you learn valuable leadership skills?
This program would be a great fit for you!
Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) is now recruiting for a Community Action Model (CAM) project addressing the negative impacts of Big Tobacco that will engage high school and transitional age (14-24) youth, especially youth of color and LGBTQ+ youth.
CAM seeks to uplift the power of youth of color by ensuring they share their stories, data, and solutions to health inequities with local decision-makers.
As they develop the language and framing to share their experiences and confront damaging policies, systems, and environments, our young leaders develop the tools to become powerful advocates for themselves and their communities.
You will receive a $$ STIPEND $$ for your valuable contributions to the program. You can also receive community service hours, academic credit, and scholarships!
Weekly meetings take place virtually on Thursdays from 5-7pm via Zoom. We also hold periodic in-person community building events about once a month. The time commitment each week varies but is generally 2-3 hours.
Programming will begin September of 2022 and sunset March 2025.
