This event will be held at Pratt's Falls Park in Manlius, NY and is open to all levels, ages 13 and over.
This a two-part event consisting of a extended biathlon instructional clinic plus a sprint race. Participants can choose to take part in one or both portions of the day. We will start off in the morning with the clinic which will be limited in participation in order to insure participants receive plenty of coaching. In the late morning, we will move to the sprint race which is open to anyone regardless if they took part in the clinic (rifle safety/biathlon orientation clinic is required for all participants).

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Due to continuing concerns involving Covid-19, we are taking as many precautions as possible in order to protect everyone involved with this event. While this may make things more difficult, it allows us to hold our events this year. We have put together guidelines based on NYSSRA's & NYSDOH policy along with the organizing committees concerns. We may adapt these depending on the situation as we get closer to race day. Please follow these guidelines as closely as possible.
Please review closely!!
1. Vaccinated participants may choose to not wear a mask. Non-vaccinated individuals are asked to wear a mask when not actively racing.
2. Social distancing (6 feet) is recommended for all participants not from the same household.
3. Masks are not required during the race while on course or at the range.
Additional Precautions
1. Contact tracing will be maintained using registration information.
2. Hand sanitizer will be made available.
3. Shared rifles will be wiped down with disinfectant between each use.
4. Competitors will be sent out individually at 1 minute intervals to provide spacing.
5. Spectator area will be separate from the competitors to reduce potential contact.

CLINIC DETAILS
This event is a training opportunity for those participants (13 and older) new to the sport of biathlon and for biathletes who would like additional coaching. We also welcome experienced biathletes who would just like the opportunity for a training day. We will begin at 9:00 with biathlon instruction and rifle safety for the novice group (10:00 for all others). From there we will move into shooting drills, strategy, and individual coaching. This clinic will be completed by 12:00. Complete this form to pre-register for the event and bring your entry fee to the event the morning of the clinic. All competitors under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian present the morning of the clinic to sign the liability release form. To ensure individual attention & safety we will be limiting the novice group (Group A) to a maximum of 15 participants so register early for this group. For those who have their own rifle/ammo but would like to receive coaching please sign up for the Group B group. Finally, for those experienced biathletes who are looking for a self-directed training day register for the Group C group. Note that the sprint race entry is included as part of the clinic fee.
Registration fee: (1) pre-registration: $20 age over 18, $15 18 or younger - pay when you check-in day of race
(2) day of registration: $25 age over 18, $20 18 or younger.
*NOTE*: If you are not a member of USBA, there is a $10 'member for a day' fee that covers insurance.
All payments are due during the registration period the day of the event.

RACE DETAILS
The race is open to those 13 and older. First time participants must complete a mandatory rifle safety/biathlon orientation clinic held prior to the race (or attend the instructional clinic). For those entering the race only, check-in and zero will begin at 11am with the race starting at 12pm. The race will be held on the dirt trails of Pratt's Falls Park and will consist of uneven terrain and potentially slick conditions depending on the weather. Total distance will be in the 4-5km range depending on trail selection.
All competitors under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian present the morning of the clinic to sign the liability release form.
Age groups will be developed based on the registration we receive but will include a novice group, boy/girl (13 &14), some variation on open, master, grand master, etc.
Registration fee: (1) pre-registration: $20 age over 18, $15 18 or younger - pay when you check-in day of race
(2) day of registration: $25 age over 18, $20 18 or younger.
*NOTE*: If you are not a member of USBA, there is a $10 'member for a day' fee that covers insurance.
All payments are due during the registration period the day of the event.
PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY JULY 8TH AT 10:00PM. Any registration after that will be considered 'day of registration' (additional $5 entry fee) and certain groups may not be available (Group A - Novices limited to 15).

All classes: approximately 5km, sprint format - 3 loops, penalty loop
*NOTE* - Distances and formats may be modified based on trail conditions the day of the race
Race fee: (1) pre-registration: $20 age over 18, $15 for 18 or younger - pay when you check-in day of race. If you are not a member of USBA, there is a $10 'member for a day' fee that covers insurance. All payments are due during the registration period the day of the race.
