About Self Care: 

My name is Tammy Starkey - I am a qualified nail technician since May 2022, I gained my qualifications at NSI Christchurch.

Each set of nails can take between 2-4 hours depending on what you are wanting so please allow enough time for this.

I want to be as transparent as I can be so if you have any concerns, want to see more of my work or even worried about how long a set takes please just let me know so I can put your mind at ease. Keep in mind, I am always learning, growing & I want you to walk away with the best set. 

House Keeping:
I am a home-based studio meaning I am welcoming you into my home, my safe place. Please at all times show respect in and outside of my home.

My house will be free of odour, vacuumed daily and up to salon standards at all times. Bathroom is available to use. Self Care is normally fine with a plus one coming with you - Just please make sure Self Care is aware and has confirmed.

Street parking is available, my street is normally traffic free so you can park right outside. PLEASE DON'T park up the driveway or on the footpath. I have a shared driveway so please be mindful - Self Care Studio is the first house with Self Care signage in the window
E-Beauty Location
E-Beauty is a unique and up-beat salon based in Lyall Bay Junction. I work there once a week so if you are wanting to come to the Lyall Bay location - I will try my best to accomodate this. 

The owner Erini is an experienced beauty guru who offers eyebrow tattoo, facials, PEDICURES and other beauty treatments. Everything is of high-quality, hygienic and matches my home-based studio perfectly.  
Service & Dress Code:
All services include: A 'Clean & Tidy' service, finishing with cuticle oil. You can choose ANY x2 gel colours.

Communicate correctly what you are wanting so Self Care can give an accurate price. Please ensure you have selected 'Add On's' if needed as this allocates enough time for your service. Add On's include - Infill/Rebalance/Removal & Any Nail Art.  

Self Care wants you to come however you like, comfy works for most of my current clients. I'm happy for you to come with a blanket and slippers if that suits you better. Self Care is all about self care so if that means PJ’s, do it with no regrets! Shoes can be worn inside too.

Silent Treatment:

I know most people just want to zone out & not have to make convo so…I have a laptop ready for your viewing pleasure! Youtube is ready for music, true crime or whatever you watch. Netflix & Disney+ are also available to watch. This is a safe space SO PLAY, WATCH, LISTEN without judgement. Bring ya headphones if you're having a not-so-good day.. Again NO JUDGEMENT Some of my current clients have started a new series and just watch it when they getting nails done. I find this is a way of relaxing and winding down so why not?! Since the laptop is keeping you occupied, please keep phone use to a minimum.

Sickness:
The most effective way to reduce the spread of sickness is to remain as sanitary as possible.
Hygiene and cleanliness is so important to Self Care that each service has:
  • Every surface has been wiped down with disinfectant before & after each service
  • Correct ventilation with large windows open
  • Dust Collector for minimum exposure 
  • Disinfected & Sanitised Tools
  • New pair of gloves per customer (gloves are disposed of after each customer)
  • Hand sanitiser and Face Masks is always available
All equipment used will be deep cleaned, soaked in barbicide, rinsed, sprayed with disinfectant, air dried and sterilised using a hot bead machine. This process happens daily.

If you have been sick, isolating or have covid please communicate with Self Care. We are understanding and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Self Care has the right to refuse entry/service to anyone who is showing any flu/sick symptoms. Self Care will also have Rapid Antigen Tests on hand for special circumstances.
Lateness, No Shows, Cancellations & Reschedules:
Lateness:
15 minutes after your appointment time will be considered late UNLESS communicated. A $10 late fee will be charged otherwise. Repeat lateness will be blacklisted.

No Shows:
1st No Show = Deposit taken & 100% of the service fee taken.
Repeating booking = Full payment is required before service is given, repeat no shows will be blacklisted.

Cancellations & Reschedules:
48 hours notice = No cost for both cancellations & reschedules.  
24 hours notice = Deposit taken for both cancellations & reschedules.
 
Within 12 hours notice = Deposit taken (or $20 fee added) + 50% of service fee taken for reschedules.
Within 12 hours notice = Deposit taken (or $20 fee added) +70% of service fee taken for cancellations.

'On the day/hours notice' = Deposit taken, 100% of service taken and Full Payment required before service on the next appointment - for both cancellations and reschedules.

If you cancel or reschedule 24+ hours beforehand, your deposit will be transferred to your new appointment.

If no deposit is paid or not required at the time of booking - a $20 fee will be added for both reschedules & cancellations within a 24 hour period. All deposits are non-refundable. 
Accounts & Payments

Please deposit $20 to secure your appointment. If deposit is required the booking will be pending for 48 hours. Outside of 48 hours Self Care can not guarantee the allocated booking time will still be available for you.

Payment methods are Cash, Bank Transfer or via Fresha App Payment - Self Care also has wifi available.

Cash is accepted but please come with the correct amount of cash as Self Care may not have the accurate change. Bank transfer can be done at the end of the service, with a screenshot to confirm. 

Deposits:

Deposits are non-refundable. If you are NOT REQUIRED to make a deposit & WANT TO you are able to bank transfer $20. Use account information above. 
The deposit amount is deducted off the full service price.

(Please remember any changes 24 hours FROM of your appointment time may incur a fee. If no deposit was given a $20 fee can be added on top of any service costs as per my T&C's form. Thank you)
Photo & Video Consent:
Self Care wants you to feel comfortable and make you aware photo and videos may be taken of your nails/hands during your appointment. 

Any photos or videos taken may be used for social media, website and other branding Self Care may do. 

Any photos or videos will be used for business & learning purposes only - they will not used inappropriately, taken out of context or used without permission. 

If you don't mind photo or videos being taken but NOT uploaded - Self Care is happy to accommodate this.
