LEAP Tutor Application 
Thanks for signing up to be a volunteer tutor with LEAP! The Latino Educational Achievement Partnership (LEAP) empowers children in Durham to achieve academic success by providing a high-quality, dual-language preschool and on-going support throughout middle school.

Please complete the application below.  Tell us about yourself, and your availability to volunteer. All tutoring is currently set up to be remote but tutor-tutee pairs can meet at the public library if in person is preferred. 

All approved tutors must:
  • Complete a 1hr training. We will offer several sessions via Zoom.
  • Complete a background check and reference check
  • Commit to volunteer at least 2hrs a week (tutoring 2x 40mins plus planning, communication and record keeping)
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner, which includes regular attendance, punctuality, adherence to policies.
  • Communicate concerns, observations, and questions with the Tutoring Coordinator so that the best possible experience can be provided for each student.
  • Keep accurate records of their work with students.
