The Golf Professional of the Year Award honors the working New Jersey Section PGA Professional whose total contributions to the game best exemplify the complete PGA Professional. The award embraces a wide range of services executed by the PGA Professional and is the highest annual honor bestowed upon a PGA Professional.

The Assistant Golf Professional of the Year Award honors the Assistant Professional who has shown outstanding service to the New Jersey PGA and to their facility.

2023 Winner: Garrett Carpenter, Canoe Brook CC

The Teacher of the Year Award honors outstanding teachers of golf among the ranks of the New Jersey PGA Section. This award is based on the PGA Professional’s overall performance in teaching; unusual, innovative and special teaching programs that the Professional has initiated or played a key role in implementing. 

2023 Winner: Matt Wilson, Baltusrol GC

The Youth Player Development Award honors the New Jersey Section PGA Professional who has made extraordinary and exemplary contributions to youth player development. Work by this PGA Professional includes involvement in the promotion and development of junior golf at the facility level and support for junior golf programs.

2023 Winner: Louis Hampton, Jumping Brook CC

The Bill Strausbaugh Award is presented to a PGA Professional who by their day-to-day efforts have distinguished themselves by mentoring their fellow PGA Professionals in improving their employment situations and through service to the community. The award bestows special recognition on a PGA Golf Professional, who personally displays outstanding integrity, character, and leadership through a commitment to mentoring and making significant impacts on the careers of PGA Professionals.

2023 Winner: Ryan Fountaine, Baltusrol GC

The Professional Development Award honors a PGA Member who personally displays a strong desire for lifelong education to include outstanding and continuing contributions to other PGA Professionals.

2023 Winner: Jason Fiore, Green Brook CC

The Player Development Award honors a New Jersey Section PGA Professional who has displayed extraordinary and exemplary contribution and achievement in the area of player development.

The Patriot Award is presented to a New Jersey Section PGA Professional who personifies patriotism through the game of golf and demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to the men and women who have valiantly served and protected the United States of America.

2023 Winner: Brian Mackey, North Jersey CC

The Deacon Palmer Award is named after Arnold Palmer’s late father who overcame personal obstacles to succeed as a PGA Professional. The Award bestows special recognition upon a PGA Professional who personally displays outstanding integrity, character and leadership in the effort to overcome a major obstacle in his/her life.

2023 Winner: Tom Flatt, Edgewood CC

The PGA Merchandiser of the Year (Private) Award recognizes a New Jersey Section PGA Professionals who has excelled as businesspersons/merchandisers in the promotion of golf. The candidate shall have demonstrated skill in planning and promotion of sales by presenting products to his/her market on a timely basis, and through the use of specialized merchandising techniques that include display and advertising.

2023 Winner: Tyler Teynor, Metedeconk National GC

The Salesperson of the Year Award recognizes a sales representative in the New Jersey Section who has provided outstanding service to Section Members and continues support of the Association.
