The City of Carlsbad is proposing rezoning lots surrounding Aviara Parkway and Poinsettia (Site 13 - Zone 20 Cluster) to HIGH DENSITY housing.  The current proposal includes 3-story buildings that will include upwards of 350 units in this area. The proposal is to rezone currently vacant lots that have been zoned for single family homes (R-4) for decades, much like the homes in the surrounding area.  The City's proposal does not take into account increased traffic, potential environmental issues, overcrowding of schools, nor other factors that would make a site appropriate for high dense housing, such as proximity to mass transit and walkability to services and employment.  

By signing the below petition, you are opposing the current plan to rezone these specified properties to higher density housing.

2021-Apr-14 Update - The City Council kept these sites in the Housing Element. There was a vote to mark these as "low priority" for rezoning. However, that may not have any meaning in reality.
