Where: Sasseto and its Castle

The Wood of Sasseto, named by the National Geographic “wood of Whitesnow”, is included in the list of the twenty enchanted spots of Italy. It’s located in the municipality of Acquapendente (Viterbo) and more precisely in Torre Alfina, along via Francigena.

The reason why is included in the list of the twenty enchanted spots become clear once you’re there: the nature takes over the landscape and the time seems to stop. The twisted branches, the evocative shaped trunks of the centuries old trees, the mosses and lichens that cover the fragments of igneous rock that sedimented over 300.000 years ago after the eruption of the volcano Volsino. Among all this a maze of trails unwinds totally harmonized with the surrounding natural environment.

Important to wear comfortable shoes there is a lot of walking.

➡ 10:00 -  METRO A SAN GIOVANNI - Via Magnagrecia 13  -  in front Che banca.  Being on time is REQUIRED.

➡ 10:20 -  METRO TIBURTINA - Circonvallazione Nomentana. In front of the exit of the Metro station. (Map here: https://bit.ly/31bezUX )

➡  12:15 - Arrival (Stop for lunch).
➡  14:00 - English guided visit to the Castle of Torre Alfina ( 1.5 hours).
➡  15:30 - Forest of Sasseto for walking & Sightseeing.
➡  17:30 - Meeting point at the shuttle bus and parking area. Please be on time. You can use the bathroom in the parking lot where the bus is parked.  We should be back to Rome by 19:30.
➡ 19:30/20:00 - ETA to Rome
