Discord
The HBPL Teen server on the Discord app is a new way for HBAY teens to share, socialize, and visit the library virtually. If you would like to join the server, please fill out the following form and a staff member will get back to you within 1-3 days.

Please use your own personal email address.

If you have any questions or haven't received an invitation in a timely manner, please contact either of our teen librarians and someone will get back to you as soon as possible!

HBPL Discord Server Rules
This server is for Hampton Bays teens only.

Our general library rules always apply here:

- Respect yourself.
- Respect others.
- Respect the space.
- Do not disclose personal information or violate the privacy of others.

So if someone asks you to drop a topic, please drop the topic.

Specific rules:
1. Absolutely no racial or homophobic slurs.
2. Do not spam the chat.
3. Keep it PG. No NSFW content in messages, profile pics, links, images, file names, etc.
4. Do not ping everyone unless you are mod/admin/owner.
5. No inviting bots.
6. No sharing server invites. You can talk about other servers and send invitations privately.
7. Do not send links that contain viruses.
8. No trolling

Our definition of trolling is creating discord on the internet by starting fights or upsetting people by posting intentionally inflammatory or off-topic messages in an online community. Basically someone who purposely says something controversial in order to get a rise out of other users.

2 warnings within an hour will result in an immediate 1 day ban from the server.
3 warnings for violating any of the above rules within a month will result in a one month ban from the server.
Serious violations may result in an immediate one month ban from the server at staff discretion.

Repeated behavioral issues may result in a permanent ban from the server.

Being banned does not kick you from the server, so once your ban is up you won't need to request to rejoin, unless you leave the server yourself.

Being banned from the server does not prevent you from participating in other library activities or services, except those using Discord, or from being on library grounds.

If you have any issues with our automod, please reach out to a staff member for help. And please feel free to talk to any staff member if you have any questions about the rules or anything else!

We trust you to follow these rules.

PLEASE NOTE that racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, and other forms of intolerance are never acceptable here or anywhere. If you are the target of any of these behaviors, please let us know so we can keep you and others safe.
