Flash Fiction Online First Reader Application
Flash Fiction Online is looking for fiction enthusiasts to help us find the best-of-the-best among the submissions we receive. All submissions are 500-1,000 words. Within that word count the author must deliver a complete story. But even complete stories don't always match the core values and style that our magazine has adopted. We believe in unique and diverse voices, cross-genres and subgenres. We publish both established and new authors from around the world.

Commitment is for at least one of our summer submission calls. Plan to read 15-25 stories a week (which generally takes about 1-2 hours).

List any experience you have with writing or publishing fiction. Because submissions are reviewed anonymously, we DO accept submissions from our staff. Publishing experience is not necessarily required, but it is helpful for us to know whether you are interested in pursuing your own writing career. *

This isn't a trick question. We try to cater to a broad audience, and we understand not every story will work for every reader. We also understand that even stories that make it to publication aren't perfect. *
