WHAT DOES BHF ASK FROM THE VOLUNTEERS?- All volunteers need to be registered. You are only a volunteer if you get an confirmation mail with further information of the BHF team after you registration.
- Everyone who access the rocks in Freyr need to be insured by an UIAA club. If you are not, indicate it in the form we will get a temporary Insurance during the festival for you.
- Enter your availability truthful.
The work you need to do during the festival: prepping day, safety shift, bar shift or cooking team
- Prepping days
A prepping day is a day before or after the festival where you are helping to build up or clean up the festival. Prepping is not rigging, we have a seperate rigging team.
- Safety shift of 4h, during this shift you are responsible for a sector to preform a rescue if needed. You need to attend a rescue day if you indicate that you want to do safety shifts, to train and show you rescue skills.
- Bar shift of 2h, during this shift you are responsible for the bar
--> If you do 3 prepping days, you need to do 3 safety shifts or 6 bar shifts during the festival. If you do 1 prepping day less you need to do 1 safety shift more, or 2 bar shifts more.
- Cooking days
A cooking day is day where you make sure there is bread and spread in the morning and for lunch, and a warm meal in the evening for the 50 volunteers of the festival. You need to do 4 cooking days if you also want to highline we arrange that you have 2 cooking days during the preparation and 2 cooking days during the festival.
WHAT CAN A VOLUNTEER EXPECT FROM BHF?- Free access to the festival and camping
- Free food on a day you worked for the festival
- Free t-shirt
- Free insurance if needed
