Boerne Academy Application
Please read this section before proceeding to the application.

The Boerne Academy is a program available to qualified BISD CHS/BHS-enrolled students.  Boerne Academy provides additional educational opportunities for its diverse and growing student population.  The Academy equips students with the academic and social skills necessary to make the most of their opportunity to succeed in a demanding, fast paced, rapidly changing world.

Students seeking an alternative route toward earning a high school diploma may apply for admission to The Boerne Academy.  Admission into the program is a selective process that includes the involvement of both the student and the student's parents/guardians. Also required is a recommendation from the student's home campus and the approval of The Boerne Academy administration.  Admission to the Academy is based upon the student's academic needs and past performance.  Prospective students must be enrolled in a BISD high school.  A pre-admission interview will be conducted and student's transcripts, test scores, academic record and attendance will be reviewed.

Our faculty provides students with the motivational support and educational instruction required to assist them in earning credit hours toward a Texas high school diploma. Texas Educational Agency-approved curriculum is presented to the students in a self-paced fashion. This enables the self-disciplined student to complete course work at their own pace.
Therefore, one of the agreements made by students accepted at the Academy is a  willingness to make a serious effort to progress academically.  Boerne Academy conducts periodic reviews and assessments of student progress.  Students who fail to maintain adequate progress during the semester may be removed from the Academy and return to their home campus.  The staff of Boerne Academy take a personal interest in each student while helping them set realistic goals that will hopefully lead to the realization of their dreams.

A student may self-initiate an application.  Applicants should be in their 3rd or 4th year of high school, have taken and passed at least four EOC exams, have good attendance and have at least 13 credits earned toward graduation.
After applications are received and reviewed for qualifications, an interview may be conducted to review specific needs and potential for success in the Boerne Academy.  An interview includes the student, parent or guardian and Academy staff to discuss requirements.  If accepted into the program, a start date will be provided.  Note that we do run a wait list.  Seats at the Academy become available when a student graduates from the program, hence, we do not have an exact timeline of when seats will be open.

Thank you for your interest in Boerne Academy!
