16th Annual Asian Heritage Month Haiku and Image Contest
HAIKU CONTEST
A haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five syllables, seven syllables, and five syllables, traditionally evoking images of the natural world. Here is an example:

"A World of Dew" by Kobayashi Issa

            A world of dew,
     And within every dewdrop
         A world of struggle.

Your Haiku entry can evoke the natural world or anything else, but should include the word "transform". You can use the word transform in one word or split it up into two words of "trans" and "form" within the haiku.

IMAGE CONTEST
The theme for Asian heritage month is “transform”.  And it can be understood and depicted in many different ways. This year we invite you to submit a photo (or 2) that represents what that word means to you.  It can be a pair of images, documenting a transformation or it can be a single image that speaks to you about the theme.

Submissions will be reviewed on their adherence to the theme and content.

Top prize is a gift card and top entries will be displayed both online and hopefully a place on campus.

You can enter as many times as you wish and either a haiku or image! Prizes will be given to the top three winners: Barnes & Noble gift card.

DEADLINE FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS IS APRIL 27!
