By submitting this registration I agree to the Player/Parent Code of Conduct and Waiver listed below: GLUSC Player/Parent Code of Conduct Players: 1. Players will demonstrate positive sportsmanship on and off of the field. This includes exercising positive self-control, graciously accepting the outcome of games and treating all players and fans with courtesy and respect. 2. Players will demonstrate respect for all players and coaches in behavior and language. Profanity will not be tolerated. 3. Players will demonstrate respect for officials, in part by accepting their decisions. Insulting comments, arguing, gestures and profanity directed at officials will not be tolerated. 4. Players will practice and work on skill development as is appropriate for the age and competitive level of play for the team. 5. Players will positively represent the Greater Laurel United Soccer Club (GLUSC) on and off the field at home and away on both recreational and competitive teams. 6. Players will understand the rules of the game as appropriate for age and competitive level of the team. 7. Players, in coordination with parents, are responsible for timely notification of absences from games, practices and training to the coach or manager of the team as determined by the team. 8. Violence and abuse of any nature will not be tolerated. Parents: 1. Encourage positive sportsmanship by example. Remind fellow parents if they get inappropriately carried away with their emotions during the game. Accept these reminders graciously when offered by other parents. 2. Be supportive--unconditionally--accept wins and losses. The last thing a child wants to hear from you after a disappointing performance or loss is what they did wrong. 3. Do not coach. Leave the coaching to the coaches. 4. Emphasize skill development over winning. Take time to help your kids practice their skills and drills at home. 5. Interact positively with parents of opposing team. Set a good example for players indicating you can compete assertively and still be respectful. 6. Be welcoming to all team families on and off the field. Minimize gossip and criticism of teammates, other players and coaches. 7. Support officials--do not criticize vocally during games. Leave any issues with the game officials to your coach. 8. Support the team and club. 9. Please review the practice and game schedules in advance. Notify your coach of any conflicts so they are aware that your player will not be participating on a given day. 10. Encourage your child to have fun and enjoy his/her teammates and the competition. By registering with the GLUSC I am agreeing that I have read and understand the above Code of Conduct and understand that the expectations apply to behavior on and off of the field at games and at practices. I agree to abide by the Code guidelines at all team and league activities. I understand that if I do not follow this Code of Conduct, I may be asked to leave the league/club activity (such as a game or practice), or may be asked to withdraw my child from the league or team.GREATER LAUREL UNITED SOCCER CLUB (GLUSC) AGREEMENT AND LIABILITY WAIVER By registering with the GLUSC I am agreeing, I understand, agree, warrant and covenant as follows:1. Refunds. Greater Laurel United Soccer Club (GLUSC) recognizes that, from time to time, players may need to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances. Registration fees are based on a variety of costs determined by the total number of teams and number of players registered on each team. Because many of these costs must be paid in advance, player withdrawals still result in a cost to GLUSC. As such, we have adopted the following policy for refunds to accommodate people whose plans have changed while maintaining the financial responsibilities associated with each sports season:Before rosters are assigned = 100% less $20 processing fee. After rosters are assigned = 50% less $20 processing fee. After season begins = No refund.2. Waiver. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT IS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS, AND THAT A REGISTERED PARTY SHOULD NOT PARTICIPATE UNLESS THEY ARE MEDICALLY ABLE AND PROPERLY TRAINED. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT EVENTS MAY BE HELD OVER PUBLIC ROADS AND FACILITIES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE EVENT AND UPON WHICH HAZARDS ARE TO BE EXPECTED. PARTICIPATION CARRIES WITH IT CERTAIN INHERENT RISKS THAT CANNOT BE ELIMINATED COMPLETELY RANGING FROM MINOR INJURIES TO CATASTROPHIC INJURIES INCLUDING DEATH. YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT, YOU AND ANY REGISTERED PARTY, THE HEIRS, PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES OR ASSIGNS OF YOU OR THE REGISTERED PARTY DO HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND CONVENANT NOT TO SUE GLUSC FOR ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT BY YOU OR ANY REGISTERED PARTY.3. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold GLUSC harmless from and against any and all damages, costs, claims or demands, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising from or relating to your participation or the violation of any term of this Agreement by you.4. Severability. You further expressly agree that this Agreement and Waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted and that if any provision of this Agreement and Waiver shall be found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this Agreement and Waiver and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.5. You agree to abide by the rules and accompanying penalties as outlined under the Referees and Coaches Policy at www.leaguelineup.com/glusc. 6. You grant the GLUSC permission to share my contact information including address and email address with GLUSC sponsors. 7. You grant (a) grant GLUSC, and their respective representatives,employees and vendors the right to take photographs of me or my child in connection with either one of our, or both of our, respective participation in GLUSC soccer programming and (b) authorize the GLUSC and their respective assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish without any compensation whatsoever any such photographs in print and/or electronic formats with or without our respective names included therewith for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, promotion and Web and other Social Media content and usage.BY REGISTERING WITH THE GLUSC YOU ARE INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER, YOU ARE AFFIRMING THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE SIGNING THE AGREEMENT AND WAIVER FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY, AND INTEND BY YOUR ACCEPTANCE TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. We will try our best to reschedule events canceled due to inclement weather, however make-up events are never guaranteed. *
