Students must complete the entire application to be considered for either an elected position or an appointed position.

Elected Positions (Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers):
Candidates applying for elected positions will:
• Complete online application prior to deadline
• Attend mandatory election/campaign meeting.
• Be video taped while presenting their speech for the student body to view.
• Campaign and be elected by a vote of the student body of Beyer High School.

Appointed Positions (Committee Directors & Committee Commissioners):
Candidates applying for appointed positions will:
• Complete online application prior to deadline.
• Be sure to complete task oriented application. SEE LINK BELOW
• Be interviewed by a panel including activities director and other adults on campus.

2/3/2020 -- Applications available online
2/26/2020 -- Applications due by 3:00 p.m.
2/28/2020 -- Mandatory Campaign Meeting at lunch in STEM CENTER
3/6/2020 -- Campaign item approval
3/9/2020 -- Campaigning begins
3/9/2020 -- Mandatory speeches and public questions in Little Theater
3/10-3/12/2020 -- Voting
3/13/2020 -- Winners will be notified -- posted in SBO window
3/16-3/20/2020 -- appointed positions and freshman interviews

I acknowledge that I am applying for an elected class office or appointed leadership position. I further acknowledge that I have read all of the requirements for applying for leadership positions.

All officers must uphold the high standards of Beyer High School ASB. Leadership students are role models and leaders. I understand that any student not maintaining high personal, academic, and behavioral standards both on and off campus may forfeit his or her position.

I agree to attend all meetings and functions concerning ASB matters which may be called any time before school, after school, on weekends, during vacation, or at lunch.

Leadership students attend a summer leadership camp at UC Santa Barbara from July 23-27. I will commit to attend this camp if enrolled in leadership. Students may need to fundraise to pay their portion of the camp.

I understand that I must currently hold, and I agree to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA throughout my term in office.

I understand that if I am elected or appointed, I must enroll in the leadership class during 0 period.

I have read and understand the student conduct code of MCS district regarding eligibility requirements for participation in school activities and agree to abide by these rules and regulations.

Any leadership student who is absent for 15 days of leadership class, 15% of properly publicized meetings, and/or fails to participate in general ASB activities and work sessions shall be subject to removal.

All leadership students will be expected to adhere to Beyer High School and MCS policies and rules regarding tardies, unexcused absences, dress code, cellphones, and any other policies.

I understand that current sophomore, junior, and senior students enrolled in Leadership will also be required to be Ambassadors for the incoming Freshman Class and attend monthly meetings and events when necessary.

I have thoroughly reviewed this application and all rules pertaining to the elected and appointed position process. I hereby agree to all of the above statements.

I understand that I will participate in Fall Homecoming Float: 20-30 hours Sept & October evenings & weekends

I understand that I will be present at Winter Homecoming Hallway Decorating: 1 weekend in late January or early February -- Friday evening, most of Saturday & Sunday

I will be working 3 dances a year. Each student must set up or clean up for each dance. Dances end at 11 p.m. Clean up Schedule is 11:15-12:30 a.m.

I will attend LOTS of RED SEA school spirit events - students will be required to attend sporting events each season to help promote school teams & school spirit
