TEDxMiddlebury Student Speaker Competition 2021

The Student Speaker Competition will take place on April 3 at 2pm, location TBD. We invite all students to enter in the competition. At the competition, students will share a four minute speech of a topic which they are passionate about that is related to this year's theme. A panel of faculty judges will elect the winner, who will give a full, 18-minute presentation at the 2021 TEDxMiddlebury event on April 29th.

Don't worry about having your TEDx talk finished, during the competition you will just have to share a 5 minute snippet from your talk.

The theme of our event this year is “Back to Baseline.” We hope this theme gives all potential speakers enough legroom to discuss whatever they are passionate about.

We also partner with Oratory Now, a student-centered initiative to reinvent the way oral expression is taught, practiced, and recognized at Middlebury. We will facilitate Oratory Now coaching with those who would like it before the competition, as well as the winner(s) leading up to the event in May.

Deadline to apply is 5pm March 25th.

Please answer all the questions below. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at tedx@middlebury.edu.
