THANK
YOU! With your help we reach out to the community in numerous ways to
gather new Christians. In fact, ESUMC received 19 new members! ESUMC has served 17,860 meals this year to date (225 delivered to the homebound) and distributed over 34,000 lb. of food. The Congregational Care team makes monthly calls/visits to shut-ins (currently 32),
and hospital visits. ESUMC sponsors 17 Stephens Ministers to support the
hurting, GriefShare, and Financial Peace University. We pack tens of thousands
of meals for Haiti and feed our neighbors at summer block parties. We’re
nearing completion of a new elevator to allow easy access for those with
disabilities. More accomplishments are scattered in the pages that follow.
It takes members’ time, talent, and money to allow all
of this to happen. With more resources do
you think we could do even more? How can YOU personally participate?
Why do we do it?
Jesus’s last command to his followers – then and now. “Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations...” Matthew
28:19
It is foundational work of the church. Like any ongoing
effort, it is most effectively accomplished if people enthusiastically bring
their varied talents and resources to bear.
“The harvest is plentiful,
but the workers are few.” Luke 10:2
Please consider how you can help in the harvest, as we
work together to gather. You’ll get to know fellow church members better, and you
can only discover the joy that comes from giving freely if you give freely.
Paper volunteer response forms have been mailed to ESUMC members, and are available at the church.
Your financial support is a personal and spiritual
decision. This time of year we ask that you give it specific prayerful thought,
whether you plan to return your estimate or not. Estimates can help plan church
finances.
November 20 is Commitment Sunday. Please come and join
your church family to present your time, talent, and resources at the altar.
