The Building Bold Scholarship

Quality advising during high school has been shown to have a real, positive impact on students’ college access and retention. However, we recognize that many students do not have access to adequate advising. We introduced the Building Bold Scholarship to tackle this issue in our community by providing students from nearby, under-resourced communities with robust access to individualized mentorship through the college admissions process.

Building Bold Scholars may receive one of the following:

1) College admissions coaching for up to 3 school applications (up to 20 hours)
From supporting students with developing a robust extracurricular profile to brainstorming outstanding essays and scheduling college information sessions, we've got you covered.

2) Essay support for either 10 or 15 hours
With our coaching, students learn to craft application essays that highlight their unique qualities and characteristics.

Eligibility:

- GPA: 3.2 or higher (weighted or unweighted)
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Total household income: $65,000 or less per year. *Note: this is not a rigid requirement; if you are facing financial or personal hardship, we encourage you to apply. Please use the additional information space in the application to share your experience.
- First generation college students, underrepresented minorities, and those experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline:

- For rising high school seniors (graduating in spring 2024): June 1, 2023 (by 11:59pm EST)
- We accept applications on a rolling basis. Applications received after the deadline will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If you have any questions, please reach out to nikki@buildingboldstudents.com. We look forward to reviewing your application!
