Hello from the Welcoming and Receiving Ministry (WARM) at Houston Chinese Church! Project 1024 is an initiative intended to encourage community in our English congregation through the building of new friendships and strengthening of established ones. As Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." This is the very verse that inspired Project 1024, along with 1 Corinthians 10:24 and Acts 10:24.

Once you fill out and submit this Google form, you will be paired with someone of the same gender (whom you may or may not have met) within Houston Chinese Church. You will be forwarded their contact information, so feel free to contact them and set up a time to meet, whether virtually, telephonically, or in person (in person is strongly discouraged during the pandemic, but it is at the discretion of you and your partner). A list of suggested questions/conversation ideas will also be forwarded to you but you are by no means required to use it. God has blessed our church with members from so many different backgrounds and locations, and we are grateful for the opportunity to encourage such a diverse congregation in this way.

This is intended to be a recurring monthly event, so we'll be sending the sign-up form out monthly. Signing up during a given month will let us know that you would like to be paired for that month. If you would like to also participate the next month or any/every month after that, please complete the form each month that you would like to be paired with someone new. Of course, we encourage you to keep in contact with those you have met with even after that first meeting, as God wills.
