Fall 2022

August SCHOOL KICK-OFF DANCE PARTY - provide speaker equipment, setup, cleanup, sell spirit gear

[Sep. 11] COMMUNITY PICNIC at Golden Gate Park - setup, cleanup

ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN - raise awareness and process donations for our most successful fundraiser

[October) WALK AND ROLL TO SCHOOL DAY - participate in bike or walk trains, welcome participants at school

[Oct - Jan, approx. every other Wed., 10-11:30am] TOURS - donate baked goods, answer questions

[Dec. TBD., 10am-2pm] STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCHEON - donate food, setup, cleanup

Spring 2023

SPRING ONLINE AUCTION - solicit and package auction items, publicize, coordinate volunteers, print programs, plan food and drink, sell raffle tickets, sign guests in and out, food prep, setup, cleanup

SCIENCE FAIR - lay out science projects from students from all grades, help with fun demos

Black History Month celebration and potluck, Black and Beyond garden, BSU

[May STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK - publicize, organize daily theme, buy flowers and teacher treats

5th grade GRADUATION - plan graduation and celebratory events, setup, cleanup, serve refreshments

Committees

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC) - have a say in how the school budget is spent, learn about policy changes, work with school staff. You must also email ssc@LakeshoreElementary.org to discuss participation.

ENGLISH LEARNER ADVISORY COUNCIL (ELAC) - Advocate for students learning English

PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE FOR PTA MEETINGS - improve the flow and content of our meetings

PARENT ED COMMITTEE - provide educational resources to equip parents with more information, strategies, and tools

PBIS COMMITTEE - support the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports programs

GRADUATION COMMITTEE - plan and organize graduation activities and the main ceremony

WELCOME COMMITTEE - staff events geared towards incoming families such as summer playdates and orientation

GREENING/GARDENING TEAM - maintain and improve the gardens together with our Science in the Garden instructors

PTA INVENTORY TEAM - keep supplies stocked for events and spirit gear sales

HOUSEKEEPING TEAM - keep closets organized throughout the year

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE - help us strategize how to best use Parent Square and reach our families
