We are a well-established social group based in Chorley but also covering surrounding areas within easy commute - Wigan, Preston, Bolton, Blackpool, etc.
Formed in 2017 we have many years of experience running a professional and well-attended group with a loyal following. I personally - Jeannette - have been managing the group since August 2018.
The group was set up and is aimed at individuals who would otherwise struggle to get out and
enjoy a social life. We aim also to reduce loneliness and feelings of isolation and promote self-confidence. This is especially relevant after the COVID epidemic which forced isolation on single people without consideration for mental well-being.
We welcome specifically separated, divorced, widowed, and
single people who are lonely and seeking friendships. However, if you are in a relationship and still want to get out and make friends, then we will welcome you as an individual. Occasionally, there may be a 'couples' event where you can bring your partner along as a guest to the group but we ask that your attendance respects the majority of single people.
Friendships have been formed purely from meeting ‘a
stranger’ who shares your interests. We are a friendship group - strictly not to
be confused with dating groups.
It is a purely social group offering various social activities, including dining out, meeting for a drink, cake and coffee catchups, live music with tribute bands, dancing evenings, days out, quizzes, walks, theatre, cinema and most importantly a good time.
Suggestions for events and offers to host such events are always welcome. The success of the group is dependent on its members being proactive. If you are interested in becoming an event host, then don't hesitate to get in touch with us and we can guide and support you through hosting an event.
