Mabadiliko Intercultural Therapy CIC is a grassroots Not For Profit Intercultural trauma informed, private therapy organisation. We offer 1:1 trauma informed Intercultural therapy and wellness workshops to adults 18 and over.

The service is offered online nationally, internationally and face-to-face from the Mabadiliko Intercultural Therapy Centre based in Forest Hill, South East London. The organisation is made up of a small team of qualified associate therapists, trainees and volunteers.

Our unique integration of African-centred UBUNTU philosophy and intercultural psychotherapy contributes towards the Mabadiliko Intercultural approach, which considers culture, ethnicity, identity and spirituality as fundamental aspects within the clients mental health experience. Our Eurocentric/Western Psychology theoretical foundation is Integrative Psychodynamic with Humanistic relational principles.

We are looking for passionate and motivated qualified therapists with genuine interests that contribute towards improving mental health access, experience and outcomes for people of colour, racialised, marginalised and minoritized groups. In addition to this, we welcome experience and/or interest in workshop facilitation and research.
We seek to onboard the most appropriate applicants to join our multi-disciplinary team.

Upon successful interview and references, you will be asked to provide photo ID, proof of address and National Insurance number to complete a DBS application if necessary. You will also be required to provide evidence of  your qualifications, professional and public liability insurance, proof of self employment status, professional membership/s and registration number/s, and ICO registration number (If qualified).

PERSONAL STATEMENT

**Standard Specification (Associate therapist/ trainee therapist):
- Qualified in counselling / Psychotherapy to Level 4 or above. If in training on a level 4 course with a minimum of 150 previous placement hours
- Registered and/or accredited member of a professional ethical body (BACP, BPS, NCS, UKCP or equivalent)
- Demonstrable knowledge of Integrative, Psychodynamic & Humanistic approaches.
- Demonstrable skills in being culturally sensitive, with an ability to provide a safe space to explore race, racism, racial adversities, discrimination, prejudice and other diversity and inclusion issues.
- Experience or interest in working with PTSD and C-PTSD, complex grief, stress, major depression or depressive episodes, childhood trauma, domestic abuse/violence and sexual trauma.
- Experience or interest working with ethnically diverse client groups
- Competent in navigating through the complexities of racial and generational trauma
- Ability to facilitate assessments/consultations  
- Experience or interest providing relationship therapy
- Experienced or willing to facilitate well-being workshops (desirable)

Senior Specification (Senior Associate Therapist) as above plus:
- Extensive clinical administrative experience
- Flexible and effective communication skills
- Flexible availability to facilitate consultations
- Interview experience
- Qualified supervisor or working towards completing supervision training
- Ability to contribute towards the social media strategy and provide social media and marketing support (desirable)

Sessional Supervisor** as above (Standard Specification) plus:
- Qualified Counselling/clinical supervisor (minimum 1 year post supervision qualifying experience)
- Extensive experience working with complex trauma
- Passionate about mentoring and professional development
- Counselling/psychotherapy qualified to Master's level or above (desirable)
