Statistics PhD Progress Review & Funding Questionnaire for 2021-22
Dear all,

As a reminder, at the end of each year, students must meet with their faculty mentor/advisor to review their progress and assess whether the student is meeting expected milestones. More information about the PhD program requirements, can be found here: https://statistics.berkeley.edu/academics/phd/program

Prior to submitting this form, you must meet with your faculty mentor/advisor(s) to discuss your progress as well as funding plans for this summer and the upcoming 2021-22 academic year.

For third year students and beyond who have established a Qualifying Exam Chair who is also serving as their Faculty Mentor, you must have a joint meeting with both your advisor and that faculty mentor. However, if you have co-advisors, you only need to hold a joint meeting with those two.

This review will provide an opportunity for you to connect with your faculty mentor/advisor(s), if you haven't been doing do, as well as provide guidance for me to ensure you all have funding for this summer and upcoming academic year. The deadline to submit GSI/GSR appointment requests is in early May so that you hired (and paid) in a timely manner especially for summer and/or fall.

Please complete this form by Friday, April 30th and let me know if you have any questions and/or concerns.

Thank you!

Best,
La Shana

Students should determine their qualifying exam chair either at the beginning of the semester of the qualifying exam or in the fall semester of the third year, whichever is earlier. Once finalized, you must submit the Selection of Qualifying Examination Chair form found here (under "Forms"): https://statistics.berkeley.edu/academics/phd/program
