2021 Hunting Agreement
I. In consideration of being allowed to hunt at 10992 Star Lake Camp Drive, Pequot Lakes, MN, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the Hunter and their guest and invitees, are hereby granted a license to enter on and use the herein described properties to legally hunt take and harvest animals in accordance with the game laws of the State of Minnesota and the United State to include from September 15 until December 31 of 2021.

II. This agreement is limited to the use of the property for the activities described herein, and anything contained herein to the contrary; the hunter has no other rights to the property.

III. This agreement ends December 31, 2021. All rights granted herein terminate on the ending date, unless extended in writing and signed by both parties.

IV. Hunter shall use the premises for hunting purposes only. Hunter may not cut or damage trees, crops, roads or dwellings, fences, buildings or other property on the land.

V. Hunter agrees to repair any damage he causes and to return the land and property to the Landowner in its prior condition at Hunter’s sole cost and expense. Hunter may not drive nails or other metal objects into trees for building deer stands or any other purpose. Any deer stands built should be temporary stand alone stands or constructed in such a way as to not damage trees or other property, and are to be removed upon the cancellation or expiration of the Hunting Agreement. Deer stands not removed within 10 days after expiration of this agreement become the property of the St Lake Camp.

VI. Hunter agrees that no motorized vehicles, including but not limited to cars, trucks, ATVs, UTV’s or snowmobiles may be used except in the gravel and dirt roads.  They may not be used on the grass trails leading into the wood or on footpaths.  Use of motorized vehicles will be grounds to revoke hunting privileges. Please stay on the road that loops around Duck Lake campground or the road that goes from the entrance to the beach at Little Star.  Be especially careful of the hill going to the beach, as it is not maintained.

VII. It is understood that the land consists of mostly undeveloped and untamed land, and the hunter accepts the land in an “as is” condition and further, the hunter understands that hunting is a dangerous activity and that there may hidden hazards, including but not limited to dangers such as cliffs, caves, rockslides, holes, fence wire, snakes, wells, swamps, brush, ponds, harmful plants, poisonous animals and insects, bats or other wild animals, unauthorized careless persons on the land, other hunters or other risks that may be dangerous, injure him or cause death and the Hunter assumes all these risks as his own responsibility, without recourse against the Landowner.

VIII. Further, Hunter agrees to protect, indemnify, and hold Star Lake Camp and it's directors and officers and the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church harmless from and against any and all claims of loss, damage, liabilities, or expense whatsoever, either directly or indirectly, except any loss, damage, injury, or other claim arising from Landowner’s gross negligence or intentional act, or as a result of Hunter’s occupancy and related and incidental activities, including, but not limited to, defending of any lawsuits caused by hunter.

IX. As further consideration of being allowed to hunt the properties, the undersigned Hunter hereby releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to file suit against the holding Star Lake Camp, A Minnesota Non-Profit Corporation and the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for any and all losses, damages, injuries or other claims or demands therefore, on account of injury to any person or property of the undersigned Hunter, or resulting in the death of the undersigned Hunter, directly, or indirectly except any loss, damage, injury, or other claim arising from Landowner’s gross negligence or intentional act.

X. Hunter further acknowledges that Hunter and all of his invitees or guests are experienced hunters and recognize the inherent dangers of injury, which exist during hunting trips. Hunter further acknowledges that Hunter and his invitees and guests are experienced in the use of firearms and recognize the inherent dangers of injury and possible death in the use of firearms.

XI.  No alcohol or fireworks are permitted on the property.

XII.  Motorized vehicles may only be used on the road to the campground on Duck Lake and the main road from the gate to the parking lot.  Appropriate vehicles may use the road going to Little Star Lake, but no motorized vehicles are permitted on any other trails.
