VES Kindergarten Early Entrance Waiver Application for 2024-2025 School Year  
The state of Connecticut has implemented a new law that stipulates children must be 5 on or before September 1st, starting the 2024-2025 school year, for a child to be eligible to register for kindergarten. The law also allows districts to waive that requirement.

Public Act No. 23-208: A child who does not meet the age requirement may still be admitted to Kindergarten pursuant to

(1) a written request from the parent or guardian 

(2) an assessment completed by the school that determines admitting the child to kindergarten would be developmentally appropriate 

 **Completing this form will serve as your official written request to the Voluntown Elementary School Administration to consider your child for early entry to Kindergarten in Fall 2024.

The school team will reach out with next steps upon completion of this form to schedule a required assessment through a screening appointment for your child.
