Thank you for your RSVP to the Mad River Valley Libraries Juneteenth events. We are excited to share these events with you thanks to a grant from Vermont Humanities. Use this form to RSVP for one or more of the following events to be held Saturday, June 15:

Juneteenth Storytime at the Moretown Library 10:30 am: Picture books and craft for young children and their caregivers. The library is at the Town Hall at 1147 Route 100B, Moretown, VT.

Freedom Dreaming Creation Workshop at the Joslin Library, 12:30-2:30 pm: Inspired by the book Freedom Dreams, The Black Radical Imagination by Robin D.G. Kelley, the Freedom Dreaming creation workshop provides space to explore our relationships to the idea of freedom. Through conversation, activity, and artistic creation, we imagine environments that can exist beyond our current realities. For freedom dreaming, all you need is love and your imagination. The workshop is led by Interdisciplinary Artivist, Educator, and Warren resident, janet e. Dandridge. The workshop is best suited for ages 14-adult; however, families with children as young as 8 may participate together. The Joslin Memorial Library is at 4391 Main St, Waitsfield, VT.

On Juneteenth Book Discussion at the Warren Library, 6 pm: Discussion of the book On Juneteenth by Annette Gordon-Reed. Pick up a copy of the book at the library to read in advance. Part history and part memoir, On Juneteenth demonstrates the significance of the holiday to the author and to the nation in 128 pages.
The Warren Public Library is at 413 Main St, Warren, VT.
