Brooching the Subject Application
Thank you for your interest in applying to our first annual Spring Juried Exhibition. We invite you to apply with works of wearable art that fit with this year’s exhibition theme: Brooching the Subject.
 
Artists are asked to submit up to three one-of-a-kind wearable works, in the form of a brooch or pin, that explores social and cultural commentary. We are looking for examples of creative, contemporary brooches in a variety of materials, styles, and methods. All works must be accompanied by a written statement explaining the concept behind each piece. Statements can be as short as one sentence, with a maximum length of 100 words. Both the work and the statement will be considered by the jurors. Artwork will be displayed in the shop and online.

Notification Date: March 17
Work Delivered Deadline: March 29
Opening Reception: April 3
Closing Reception: April 29

APPLICATION DETAILS:
Applicants may submit between 1-3 individual works. Each must be a wearable piece of art jewelry in the form of a brooch or pin, an original design by the artist, and relate to cultural commentary. Each item must be available for sale under our consignment agreement. You must apply with the actual work to be exhibited and the work must be available for the full duration of the exhibition.

Objects must be photographed and submitted in jpg format no larger than 1MB each. Name each file in the following format Lastname_Firstname_1.jpg, Lastname_Firstname_2.jpg, etc.
