PNNL KBase Workshop July 26 2:30-4:30 Registration Form
KBase will be giving a tutorial in conjunction with the Multi-omics for Microbiomes meeting. The Department of Energy Systems Biology Knowledgebase (KBase) is a free, open source software and data platform for systems biology research designed for both bench biologists and bioinformaticians. KBase enables users to upload their own data, analyze it alongside collaborator and public data, build increasingly realistic models, and share their workflows and conclusions. Users can perform sophisticated systems biology analyses without having to install dozens of tools or dependencies.

This tutorial will cover the basics of using KBase for bioinformatics analyses, including uploading your own data, searching for reference data, common analysis workflows, and sharing your research for collaboration or publication. KBase can be used for a variety of applications such as sequence management and quality control, genome assembly and annotation, metagenomics and communities analyses, phylogenetics, transcriptomics and differential expression analysis, and more. If you have particular KBase uses or analyses of interest in your research, please let us know and we can explore the possibility of including those in the agenda.
