Call for Interpreter Coordinator
Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf (TSID) is seeking a qualified
person to coordinate communication access services at the TSID 2020
Annual Conference in College Station. The dates are July 8th - 12th
(Student Conference, 8th and 9th and TSID Conference, 9th - 12th).  This
year, TSID's conference will be held concurrently with the Texas
Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (TAJIT) Conference.  In order
for our membership to learn from each other, TSID and TAJIT members will
be able to attend sessions from the other conference's agenda.
Therefore, we will need to have nearly all of the sessions interpreted.
This will require more certified court interpreters than at previous
conferences.    TSID will also have a trilingual track this year
requiring the use of certified trilingual.

The timeline for securing an Interpreter Coordinator is as follows:
•       Feb 17, 2020 - Call for Interpreter Coordinator opens
•       March 10, 2020 - Call for Interpreter Coordinator closes
•       March 20, 2020 - Selected Coordinator notified

Specific duties of the Interpreter Coordinator includes:
•       Putting out a Call for Conference Interpreters, in coordination with
         the 2020 TSID Conference Co-Chairs
•       Selecting qualified interpreter and negotiating contracts with
        selected applicants
•       Scheduling interpreters for all conference workshops and plenary
sessions (both TSID and TAJIT sessions) as directed by the 2020 TSID Conference Co-Chairs
•       Ensuring interpreting costs do not exceed budget for such services
•       Overseeing the provision of interpreting services during the
         conference
•       Collecting and ensuring accuracy of invoices at the conclusion of
         conference.
