Murchison ISD accepts students residing oustide district boundaries on a transfer basis. Students applying are considered when class size allows for additional students. Transfer students and families agree to the following guidelines:
1. Maintaining 90% attendance or having no more than five tardies/early out incidents in a semester.
2. Compliance with Student Code of Conduct and Murchison ISD Handbook.
3. Maintaining passing grades in all subject areas.
4. Achieving passing levels of mastery or making progress on the STAAR test.
5. Family membership and active participation in PTO and district events. (Volunteer for at least 2 events annually)
6. Positively represent the district including on social media platforms.
7. Ensure all monetary accounts with the district are in good standing or have been paid in full.
8. All district property has been returned in satisfactory condition to the appropriate department.
Transfers may be denied or revoked at any time for failure to meet any of the above guidelines.
The transfer policy for new transfers are:
1. Parents complete the Transfer Application and see if we have availability.
2. The school will review and request records from the student's current school.
3. The principal will set up an interview with the parent and student.
4. The school will notify the parent if the child has been accepted or not.
