Summer' 24 Chess Club @ Maple Primary School,  Wednesdays Timing : 12.30 pm to 1.15 pm

Dear Parents,

Thank you for supporting the chess club.

The children had an excellent learning curve in the Spring Term. Chess improvement comes from casual games and match play. Playing against friends improves their confidence. The skills acquired in learning chess will enhance your child’s logical thinking and improve creativity.

We teach all abilities. Children are welcome whether they are complete beginners or have knowledge of chess.

We are excited about the events lined up in the Summer Term, Efroc Summer Chess Championship, intra-club matches, inter-school matches, Viz Kings Pre-Qualifier events, etc.

Children from Year 1 to Year 6 can join and be part of the school team. In the Summer Term, the chess club resumes on 24-Apr-2024 (Wednesday) and concludes on 10-Jul-2024 (excluding half term on 29-May-2024). The fee for this term is £99/-. Please note that fees are non-refundable in the event of absences or closure of the school for any reason.

If you want to enroll your child/ children in the chess club, please fill in the form below.

In the Summer term, we have exciting events lined up. Find below a glimpse of it.
  1. On 09-June-2024 (Sunday), we have the Efroc Summer Chess Championship (venue to be confirmed shortly) where children will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete with fellow students of our club from other schools. Entries are limited. We recommend interested parents to register and pay at the earliest to secure their places to avoid disappointments later. Each term, we are forced to keep a waitlist and in the event of any withdrawals, we offer the places to the children in the waitlist.
  2. Towards the lateral part of the Summer term, children in our club will have the opportunity to participate in the Inter-school Team matches, where they will exhibit their skills as a team & compete against other schools in our club. This is between 2 schools and will happen in the premises of either of the schools during a week day.
  3. Apart from the above, we have various other tournaments lined up this term for the children to play as individuals to hone their skills in a competitive environment.
  4. The children who perform well on these events consistently, will be offered specialist coaching sessions to groom them for other bigger events like UKCC, LJCC, ELOG, EPSCA, 4NCL, British Championship, etc.
Together, let us make your child/ children’s journey in chess a success.
