PHS Summer 2023 Science Bridge Programs
Looking for something to do this summer? Join one of the Princeton High School Science Department Summer Bridge Programs this summer.

Who: Students who would like to preview science content for their upcoming school year are encouraged to participate in a summer bridge program. ***Please note that students who have placed into Accelerated Biology are not eligible to apply for this program.

What: Students will engage in a variety of experiences including team and culture building, as well as academic enrichment and scientific exploration.  Our program will focus on marine biology in and around the Antarctic Peninsula; students will have the opportunity to collaborate with scientists at Rutgers University who have collected data at Palmer Station in Antarctica.  The program will expose students to big data science and engineering design thinking. To enrich the learning experience, students will also hear from marine scientists in the field to learn more about their work. The program will conclude with an opportunity to share the science with the students’ friends, family, and PHS community.

When: Session I: Monday June 26th – Friday, July 7th. Most days will be 8:30-11:30am, with two days spanning a full day (8:30-3:00pm) NO PROGRAMS on July 3rd or 4th. Session II: July 10th - August 10th
Session I: Introductory Bridge Programs (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
Session II: Advanced/Independent Study (Any subject)*

Where: Princeton High School

Cost: $100* (Scholarships are available) for Session I. Subsequent weeks are $50/week

Why: Research shows that students who engage in bridge experiences before entering high school and college have greater transitional success, both academically as well as social-emotionally.  We hope this early exposure to high school curriculum and teachers inspires students to take full advantage of courses offered at PHS.

How: Fill out this application and submit by 5/19. Students will be selected for specific programs based on:
1. Previous courses in science/math (pre-enrollment for 2023-2024 school year)
2. Student-generated responses to application questions
Confirmation and payment/scholarship* application due by 5/31.
