You are invited to participate as a featured maker in the 2021 Capitol Hill Maker Faire, to be held virtually on the platform Gather (Gather.Town).
THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!!!
THE EXTENDED DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 28TH AT 11:59 PM PST
Nation of Makers, along with the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Congressional Maker Caucus, will host the 6th annual 2021 Capitol Hill Maker Faire (CHMF) on Monday and Tuesday, December 6-7, 2021. This year, due to Capitol restrictions, the Faire will again be held virtually. This dynamic event will continue to celebrate trends and drivers of the popular Maker Movement. Following an invited series of panels on Monday, December 6th, an online showcase of makers will be highlighted at the virtual Maker Faire on Tuesday December 7th. Past CHMF presenters and makers have included federal agencies, universities, museums, libraries, non-profits, corporations, and individuals from around the country. Attendees are congressional representatives and their staff, agencies, and it is open to the public at no cost.
As a participating maker, you will receive a virtual booth in Gather, an interactive venue built for just this type of event! Each booth will have interactive graphic items (tables, TVs, books, and many more) that can show videos, link to websites and documents and more. The exhibitors part is simple, to provide any internet links they'd like to showcase and we will build the booth.
Additionally, the booths allow for one-on-one and one-to-group video interactions with attendees. Although the venue will be open to the public on both days, as an exhibiting maker, you will be asked to be available online at your booth during the 3-4 hr showcase portion of the faire on Tuesday, December, 7th 1pm to 5pm ET.
To register as a maker for the 2021 Capitol Hill Maker Faire, please provide the following information about your project no later than midnight PST on Friday November 19th. You will be notified as to whether you have been selected to participate, and will receive additional details, including exhibit logistics, shortly thereafter.
