The Colorado Energy Alliance and FIRST Robotics Team 1339 are excited to bring you the second Kendrick Castillo Memorial Tournament.

WHERE: East High School, 1600 City Park Esplanade, Denver, Colorado, 80206. Held on the Esplanade at the front (West side) of the school building.

WHEN: September 25 (Saturday) Load in will begin Friday the 24th at 3:00pm.

WHAT: An off-season FRC-style demonstration and short tournament, held outside in front of the school, on an unofficial "Infinite Recharge" field, under a large tent. Also other events as part of the annual Colorado Energy Day, including outdoor exhibition matches, conferences and workshops, chances to interact with energy industry companies, and the opportunity to share your passion for robotics with a predicted 10,000 visitors on Saturday.

COVID-19 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: All participating teams and their members, mentors, and entourage will be expected to adhere to safety precautions that will include:
-wearing masks at specified locations
-staying home if you or someone in your family has or is suspected to have Covid-19
-informing the organizers of any positive Covid-19 cases within several days of the event, for the purpose of contact tracing
-encouraged to accept vaccine where possible
-any other requirements that the city of Denver, the state of Colorado, and Denver Public Schools may set

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Participants will be asked to share their robots with the community as part of the Energy Day festival on Saturday, and to make sure the event runs as smoothly as possible.  We will also be asking for volunteers in key positions, such as set-up/tear-down, MC, announcers, A/V, referees, etc. Registration cost is $100 per robot (not per team), and will be used to create a grant fund for Denver-area middle school teams to begin robotics clubs.

OTHER DETAILS: space for a full pit area (with power) will be adjacent to the main competition arena. Food trucks will be on site Saturday, and there are plenty of good places to eat within an easy walk. Pit setup and some practice rounds may take place Friday evening.

Teams will be allowed to bring up to two robots with separate drive teams. These robots will be allowed to play with and against each other in quals. However, the two robots may not pick one another during alliance selections. Only one pit space will be provided for both robots.
