Activate your inner activist this Spring with powerful conversations and thought-provoking activities!
Covid 19 is no excuse for abuse! As we all prioritize our individual safety and the well-being of our families it is vital that we sharpen our skills that challenge the harmful effects of social distancing for self-identified women and girls.
From May - June 2020 the YWCA NYC will host FREE 90 minute virtual sessions on bystander intervention. Each webinar applies a racialized gender lens to discuss harassment and violence targeting the most vulnerable members of our communities, empowering participants to take responsibility in situations that involve harmful behaviors.
Bystander Intervention Training is a prevention model that:
- Increases awareness about bias-motivated violence against people of color, especially fem-identified and gender nonconforming
- Challenges racist and sexist social norms
- Empowers participants to be agents of change in their communities
Space is limited - RSVP soon using the form below!
**Ages 15 and up! All are welcome to attend, especially individuals that identify as someone targeted by hate, someone who wishes to be an ally to targeted communities, or both.
