We are super excited to announce that the Australian Medical Students' Orchestra (AMSO) will be hosted in Sydney this year!
If you haven’t heard of us before, a quick bio: AMSO was founded in 2016 and has been running each year since then, in various cities including Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Sydney has hosted previously in 2017 and 2022, and we are proud to bring AMSO back to Sydney in 2024. AMSO will bring up to 100 medical students from all around Australia to Sydney for three days of rehearsals, culminating in a concert taking place in June 2024 where proceeds will be donated to charities Beyond Blue and Street Side Medics. AMSO brings together a love for music, and a passion for using our music to benefit others.
The details of the 2024 concert will be:
The 2024 AMSO concert will be held on the afternoon of Sunday the 30th of June. Rehearsals will start on Friday the 28th, with more rehearsals on Saturday 29th and a soundcheck on Sunday 30th morning. Rehearsals will take place at Haymarket Creative - SYO Orchestral Rehearsal Room, while the concert location is likely to be The University of Sydney Great Hall. For those looking into plane tickets, aim to arrive at Sydney by noon Friday, and depart on Sunday evening.
